Impossible Cities
BERLIN 2020 – ONGOING
At a time when we all felt disconnected from the life we knew, I personally felt the need to create new worlds where we could retreat and open our minds to the impossible.
Starting from the details – or the memories – of what man had built, I used the properties of symmetry to create architectures that are inconceivable, but that preserve small fragments of reality.
In this way, floating buildings, geometric patterns and upside-down cities enhance the value of urban space and push it beyond, towards places where physics and reason do not set limits, but open up possibilities.
